LCSW Clinical Supervision

I’m a Texas board approved LCSW supervisor providing online and in-person* individual supervision to LMSWs seeking LCSW licensure.

My supervising style is curious, authentic, and supportive. I value vulnerability, empathy, and self-compassion in and out of the supervision space. I work from an anti-racist, cultural-relational model and believe that we grow when challenged- so I will often gracefully challenge my supervisees. By forming a trusting supervisory relationship by being genuine and laid back, while also modeling boundaries, I will help you find your own advocating voice and clinical style.

When we are open to knowing and learning about ourselves, we are more prepared to help others feel seen.

MORE details

Clinical Social Work is defined in the rules at 22 TAC §781.102(12) and includes “using specialized clinical knowledge and advanced skills to assess, diagnose, and treat mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders, conditions, and addictions…  Treatment methods may include but are not limited to, providing individual, marital, couple, family, and group psychotherapy.”

The board has determined that if you assess, diagnose, and treat mental health or substance abuse issues using DSM-V criteria for at least four hours per week, you are eligible for LCSW supervision. If you have personal client or patient interactions and utilize clinical skills, you probably meet LCSW supervision criteria. If you are using a diagnostic skill set and/or screening
tools when working with clients or patients, you are good to go.

The board requires a minimum of 100 hours of supervision with a board-approved supervisor that occurs throughout the course of a minimum of 3,000 supervised clinical hours. Hours must be completed in a minimum of 24 months and in no more than 48 months.

If you are a full-time LMSW, you will need 4 hours/month of supervision.
If scheduling allows, I offer either weekly 1 hour supervision or bi-weekly 2 hour supervision.

For more clinical hours to supplement your supervision plan, ask me about opportunities to see clients through Moonstone Counseling.
